South Carolina Taxpayer Information Compromised

The state is offering identity theft protection and credit monitoring for one year – free of charge – and is urging anyone who has filed a SC tax return since 1998 to enroll. Visit www.protectmyID.com/SCDOR and use the activation code SCDOR123. Alternatively, you can call (866) 578-5422. In addition, the SCDOR is encouraging you to change online passwords, regularly review credit reports, place fraud alerts with the three credit bureaus and place a security freeze on financial and credit information with the three credit bureaus.

For more information about protecting yourself against identity theft, visit the SCDOR website at http://www.sctax.org/security.htm and click the large blue message box.

At CBC National Bank, we take the protection of your personal information very seriously. As you may already know, we have a system that monitors your debit card for unusual activity.
